Do you want to know how to gain the trust of your customers? We all know that before someone can pay you for your product or service, they have to trust you. If they don’t trust you, they are not going to buy from you and how you can do that is what I will be sharing here today.

Yet one of the biggest problems you as a business owner face is how to gain the trust of your audience and get them to do business with you.

Before you start to focus on getting your audience to trust you, there are certain foundational blocks that need to be set in place.

  • They have to know you
  • They have to like you.

If there’s no one that knows you, then there’ll be no one you’ll be trying to gain their trust.

Hence these foundational blocks have to be in place, you can’t skip it.

Let’s go over each of the blocks one after the other.

They have to know you
This is the point where you drive traffic to you, your business, and what you’re offering.
You have to get your voice out there and let people see and appreciate your expertise.
Get visible, use paid ads, and collaborate with other brands.
Just do everything ethical to get your brand known.

They have to like you
Your audience knowing you are just one step, the next important step is to get them to like you.
At this point, they’ve come across your post, they’ve seen your product, they’re aware of your business and they’re now sure of what you have to offer.
The following tips would help you convert them from knowing you to liking you.
Be responsive
Be transparent
Be genuinely interested in helping them
Be empathetic and show that you care.
Now if all these are set up, then we can start working on getting them to trust you.

Getting your audience to trust you

Provide value upfront
Give as much value as possible upfront and do it selflessly.
Educate them on the problem they have and proffer solutions to them.
When your audience sees how you selflessly you help them without asking for anything in return, they’ll come to love and trust you.
They’ll also be more likely to do business with you.

Use testimonials
Get as many testimonials as you can from people you have worked with in the past; people who you have had a positive impact on working with.
This does 2 things.
It helps you build social proof
It helps you build a strong relationship with your existing audience
People are more likely to trust you when they see other people are doing business with you.

Show results you can bring
Before a purchase decision is made, people want to know the results you can bring them. And this is what you can showcase to help you gain their trust.
Create case studies to show the results you’ve brought for others and publish it on all your social media channels.

Build a real relationship with your audience
A real relationship builds most of the time is what helps you land a life long customer.
Connect with your audience beyond just your post, talk to them in the DM and cater to their personal needs. They’ll come to love you and trust you better.
